Die Humpin'!

This past Saturday night, I went and caught the boys of The Dirty Marmaduke Flute Squad play live at the Ottobar. Grandma's Dick, Horsepower, Captain Mediocrity, Pikesville Gynecologist and Chauncey (great stage names!) were in good form. They put up a great show!
I picked up their debut CD, 'Die Humpin'!', and right away I fed it into my IPod. I've been quite enjoying it, and 'digesting' it. The Squad's stylings are a unique combination of rockabilly and 'parody rock' with good dosages of hair-metal rock'n'roll thrown in the mix. The CD's well produced. And how can you not love some of the song titles: 'Give Me Something I've Heard Of', 'Don't Let Jesus Ruin Your Day' and 'I Wish I was A Black Man' (this song, btw, has a great faux-string arrangement. They did a very good job in their indie studio.)
If you're interested in checking out samples of their music, head out to http://www.flutesquad.com They also have their own myspace, which I believe is myspace.com/dirtymarmadukeflutesquad or just do a search on MySpace for the band name and it'll take you there.
