Boneclouds by Mason Jennings

I've not bought new music in over 6 months. I've been starving for some new music. Finally, I picked up Mason Jennings' Boneclouds. I got it on the strength of Jenning's beautiful song, 'Be Here Now', which was a hit last summer. WTMD 89.7 Towson played it quite a lot. Jennings' a singer/songwriter with a flavor for acoustic guitar and folksy tunes. For the most part, the rest of the record (which I believe is his third) is strong. I'm digging tunes like 'Gentlest Hammer', 'If You Need A Reason' and 'If You Ain't Got Love'; the latter song has some great lyrics in particular.

Mason Jennings is playing Towson's Rechter Theater this weekend. It's only a skip-hop from my place, so I'm thinking of catching his live show. He has his own myspace at http://www.myspace.com/masonjennings

If you are going to write a review, at least do your research. This is not Mason's 3rd album, He has released five, including Boneclouds: Mason Jennings, Birds Flying Away, Century Spring, Use Your Voice, and Boneclouds.
